Kangerlussuaq, a former US military base, is the main gateway to Greenland. Since Hotel Kangerlussuaq is connected to the airport terminal, accommodation is easily handled. On the other side of the landing strip is the base area proper, featuring activities like a bowling alley, an indoor public swimming pool and a nightclub.
 
The former cinema has been rebuilt into a conference room that can accommodate up to 272 persons. There are also meeting facilities accommodating up to 50 persons.
 
The restaurant, located in the airport building, offers international cuisine with savoury Greenlandic specialties.
There is also a discotheque and bar at the former base (2 kilometres from the hotel) that accommodate 300 persons.
